I study mercury cycling within wetland habitats. Wetlands are known to be major contributors of methyl mercury to the Bay-Delta system. Considering that 13,600 acres of wetland restoration is planned for the Bay-Delta, it is important to evaluate which aspects of wetland design affect methyl mercury production. I am investigating water depth, water flow patterns, vegetation densities, and methyl mercury production rates in order to help restoration efforts.
