I came to California from Texas right after I got my B.S. degree from Texas A&M University at Galveston. I have worked for the Marine Pollution Studies Laboratory (MPSL) here at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories (MLML) as the methyl mercury analyst since July of 1998. I have set up the capabilities of methyl mercury analysis in tissues, sediment, and water here at MLML. I enrolled as a part time gradate student in 2000 under Dr. Kenneth Coale. I am studying the transport of methyl mercury down the Sacramento River entering San Francisco Bay for my thesis project. This work will aid in the development of a methyl mercury conceptual model for the Sacramento - San Joaquin Delta Estuary. I am currently working full-time, taking classes, working on my thesis, and enjoying every moment possible with my daughter who is three.
